Why remodeling

Nobody Owns
The Gap

With separate designers and builders, what gets drawn and what gets built come apart. The drawing does not account for the wall that turned out to be structural, the builder prices around the detail instead of solving it, and when you ask why the finished room is not the room on the page, each side points at the other. Nobody owns the gap.

We design and build the same job, so the person who drew it is accountable for the version you live in. Decisions get made once, in front of you, with the cost and the constraint on the table at the same time.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A typical bathroom runs a few weeks. Tile work and waterproofing set the pace, and neither one can be rushed without showing later.
Do you waterproof behind the tile?
Yes, always, and it is the part of the job nobody sees. Tile installed over an inadequate substrate looks fine for two years and then fails at the corners.
Can you convert a tub to a walk-in shower?
Yes. It usually means moving the drain and adjusting framing, so it is permitted work in most jurisdictions. We handle the submittal.
Will you fix the ventilation?
If the existing fan is undersized or vents into the attic instead of outside, we tell you and we correct it. Bad ventilation is the single most common reason a bathroom develops mold.
Do you do more than one bathroom at a time?
Yes, and it is usually more efficient, since the plumbing and electrical rough overlaps.
What if you find water damage during demolition?
We stop, photograph it, show you, and price the repair before continuing. You will never find out about it on the final invoice.
