Why remodeling

Nobody Owns
The Gap

With separate designers and builders, what gets drawn and what gets built come apart. The drawing does not account for the wall that turned out to be structural, the builder prices around the detail instead of solving it, and when you ask why the finished room is not the room on the page, each side points at the other. Nobody owns the gap.

We design and build the same job, so the person who drew it is accountable for the version you live in. Decisions get made once, in front of you, with the cost and the constraint on the table at the same time.

Questions

Answered
Straight

Should I repair or replace my roof?
It depends on the age of the system and the condition of the decking underneath. We get on the roof, photograph what we find, and tell you plainly which one it is. A repair on a roof at the end of its life is money spent twice.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most residential roofs are a matter of days, weather permitting. Tile and larger or steeper roofs take longer.
Do you replace the decking?
Only where it needs it. We do not know how much until the tear-off is done, so we tell you at that point, with photographs, before any additional work happens.
Do you handle flashing and vents?
Yes, and they matter more than the roofing material. Most leaks are flashing failures at penetrations and valleys, not failures of the field of the roof.
What about my gutters?
We install and replace gutters as part of a roofing scope. Water has to get off the roof and away from the foundation to have done its job.
Do you clean up?
Yes. The site is cleared, we run a magnet for nails, and we walk the roof and the perimeter with you before we leave.
